President's Message - Judy Everett, 2009 CRD President

Welcome to the Council for Resource Development web site - a great way for members and non-members alike to begin to explore CRD as an organization, the programs and resources it offers and the benefits of becoming a member. We are continually looking for ways to update our programs and services and make better use of technology, particularly as they relates to the information available through this site.

As a CRD member, you can access up-to-date information on community college development in a variety of ways, including our federal funding database facilitated by our signature Federal Funding Task Force. We also share "best practices'' and sample documents ranging from donor agreements to grant manuals to sample proposals. Stay in touch with your colleagues by using our online member directory. Please take advantage of these resources--and contribute by sending us what works best for you!

I recognize that the best ideas don't come from an organization's leadership, but rather from the sharing and collective expertise of its members. I'd like CRD to move in the direction of further harnessing the combined wisdom of our membership by increasing the ways in which communication flows.

Over the next several months, CRD will continue developing online tools for our members. We will also work actively to increase the number and expand the topics in our webinar offerings. Additionally, we will look forward to adding new features such as blogs and wikis for optimum communication among our professionals.

Please communicate your ideas and expertise to continue to ensure that CRD is the essential education and networking choice for all community college development professionals.
